Adjust account balance (add private transaction?)
Hello,
I have a gap in my bank transactions because I haven't downloaded a statement in a couple of months and my bank only allows to download transactions up to about 6 weeks back. This 2 week gap means that my balance is now incorrect.
I know I didn't do any business transactions back then so all I need to do is add an adjustment (a private transaction?) in the missing period. How can I do that?

Inappropriate?Pawel,
Hmm, tricky. FreeAgent assumes that for personal bank accounts any manual transaction (or explanation of an actual transaction) is business-related.
However we could add a fictitious bank transaction from here which would fix the problem. Could you email me (ed at freeagentcentral dot com) with the details? -
Inappropriate?I have this problem too. I've emailed you with my details Ed.
Just thought I'd note something here, I don't see how you could take action on it but just to highlight the better approach that banks can take to provide statements:
When I download a statement from RBS online, it gives me this option "download all transactions since last download". This is perfect because it means I won't miss any.
In HSBC it asks me to choose a date period (and limits how long that date period is too). So if I've forgotten to download statements for a while, I have to download a couple of transaction sets, working back in time to the date when it looks like I last downloaded. You could easily miss a transaction this way, because of the way transactions can be added to a day at any point (so there could be more transactions in the day after you download for that day).
Also, just to add, the way HSBC only lets you download transactions for a limited time period is a complete pain in the ****. I wouldn't have to ask for your help here if they just allowed you to do this for longer (say, 6 months?).
Okay, rant about banks over with!
I’m annoyed at a certain bank, not you!

Inappropriate?Ed - I emailed you my details a while ago to ask if you could add some ficticious bank transactions for me but I haven't heard back from you...
I’m perturbed

Just to confirm we're now on the case with that! -
All sorted - thanks Ed! -
