bank accounts summary graph
Can't believe i have never seen the /bank_accounts chart before - handy!
Although what would be really handy for cashflow is if as well as seeing the accounts individually, you could chart the combined total.

Inappropriate? You've never seen it because it wasn't there! We just released it last night.
The cashflow thing is high on our to-do list at the minute. The bank chart is a first step towards that. -
Inappropriate? It sounds like cash flow *projections* are part of the plan. Having a simple summary of the *historic* data is also useful I think...

What sort of summary would you like to see beyond the balance plotted over time? -
Inappropriate? The sum aka "combined total" of the balances, as described by Toby.
Rightly or wrongly a slope on a graph carries an emotional significance, but a transfer from a reserve account or back again changes the slope of two graphs but the genuine significance of the event is nearly zero. I'd like a graph which shows a transfer between accounts as a non-event.
The only downside I can see is that an overdraft in the primary account is more difficult to see, solving that would involve somehow combining the data sets onto one visualization. The most intuitive solution I can imagine is having the new series superimposed on the graph of every account, showing the overall position. A toggle button could hide the second series and allow the axis to be re-scaled to suit the account-level data.
