Business Log/Diary
Has there been any interest in adding a "Notes" or "Business Diary" type of area to FA? Either as a standalone area, or perhaps linked to the Timesheet or Expenses areas?
I keep a daily business log (and I know many other freelancers do) to note the whos, whys and wheres of business-related phone calls, mileage calculations, meal/entertainment expenses and so on. I also use it to explain time/money spent on non-billable activities and things done to support the business -- very important documentation to have if you're ever audited. ;-)
At the moment I'm using a Word document for this (a separate doc for each month) but it's not an ideal solution.

A great idea - thanks - we've been talking about scanned attachments (receipts etc) but some notes available for each item would be a simple start.
We'll get our thinking caps on...

Inappropriate?I like the idea of being able to store a copy of receipt's, documents etc.
A suggestion I have for implementing this in a fairly, low cost, easy way .. you could add the ability to link to evernote as a document storage system, as they are soon to release an API. I think this would be a great tie-in/mashup.
If you haven't seen evernote, it's great for tracking documents, has mobile access ( it'd be great to take a photo of a receipt with your camera phone, and upload it on the spot) .. and will allow searching for text on receipts/papers, even with handwritten/scrawled notes.
As an alternative, maybe the ability to add say a URL to each transaction would be good .. that way we could manually link to an online image somewhere else. -
Inappropriate?I like the diary idea. We keep a communal Google calendar, but that's just another destination to log into and keep updated. Would be good to have that functionality in FAC, consolidate everything, so everyone knows who's doing what. wouldn't need to be very deep, just appointments / meetings etc but i'm sure once you started to dig you could tie it in to all sorts - expenses, mileage blah blah blah...
