Can I set my start date as April 2007?
I'm considering using Freeagent, I've heard good things about it. I'd like to consolidate my accounts with a start date of April 2007. Is that possible or the latest April 2008.
Also will the change from sole trader to Limited Company in October 2008 cause any issues? I mean can this be done?

We're glad you're thinking of using FreeAgent.
You can indeed start using FreeAgent as of April 2007.
I think that if you switch from a sole trade account to a limited company account that's a setting we have to change for you at our end (Roan/Olly please correct me if I'm wrong).

Inappropriate?Steve - just for clarity - you were trading as a Sole Trader between Apr 07 and Oct 08? Then you formed a Limited Company?
If so, you'll actually need two accounts, because the accounting for each one needs to be kept entirely separate.
Don't worry though! You won't need to pay for two: just sign up for the accounts, entering the data into each as appropriate, and we'll make the Sole Trader one a free account (since the business is no longer trading).
You'll also not get a complete picture of your personal tax unless you copy across the salary and tax figures from your limited company back into your sole trader account - we do plan to link accounts to do this better in the future.

That's right I was a sole trader along side my full time job until starting my business last October.
