Can I upload last years accounts?
I have been using Freeagent for the last year and have found it extremely useful. However I have come slightly unstuck in my transition from using my existing accountant to using Freeagent.
For the last year I have been diligently uploading my bank statements and keeping things up to date. At the end of the year I exported a Trial Balance sheet exported from FAC which I supplied to my accountant who then compiled my end of year accounts. However the report he gave back to me did not match the FAC figures. I'm assuming some adjustments were made that accounts for the discrepancy. But my long winded question is; how can I get the figures from my accountant into FAC so that the two match. Is it possible to upload a quickbooks export/csv in the same manner as a bank statement that makes these adjustments automatically. This is not something that I need to do every year as I'm hoping my accountant will be able to make these adjustments within FAC next year.

Inappropriate?Hello Mark.
I'm FreeAgent's in-house accountant - may I help.
It's not possible to import a QuickBooks file into FreeAgent, I'm afraid.
What your accountant would need to do is to compare the figures that he/she put together for your final accounts, with your figures in FAC, and write out a list of journal entries.
Either you or your accountant would then need to post these into FAC.
If your accountant isn't already set up as one of our partners, you can give him/her access by going to Users, choosing New User and setting your accountant up as a user type "accountant". Make sure you give him/her full access to the system by dragging the user permissions bar right over to the right.
Your accountant can then log into your FAC account and post the journals for you.
Does that help please?
Kind regards,
Emily -
Inappropriate?hi Mark, Emily ... as you know I've had experience with this. Emily very graciously consolidated my old accounts into FreeAgent.
I’m thankful
