Can we have it as project to invoice please?
The more I play the more I think it definately should be project to invoice based rather than the current invoice to project way round. i.e.
It's best to create an invoice without having to specify a project and then adding projects to that invoice so you can have as many projects on the one invoice as you like. I know you can at present create invoices without projects but this messes up when you want to add several projects to it because the projects expect to be associated with invoices otherwise they look as if they haven't been invoiced, plus also I'd like to add PO numbers to the invoices rather than the projects so an invoice can cover several projects under one PO number.
Im currently wrestling with several projects for the one client and so far they all have their own time tracked tasks. A couple of other jobs are fixed costs so I've had to create a blank invoice and add them projects to it but in order for me to invoice for these timed ones Im going to have to either A. create separate invoices for each or B create a blank and add them manually then delete their unbilled time....which is awkward and odd if you ask me.
Adding projects to the invoice surely makes better sense?...like so....get rid of the project select from the create invoice....
...and add it to the invoice item list!
It also needs breadcrumbs....if you're looking at a clients project and want to get back to their list, you have to click all the way back to contacts to click on them again to get to the list....wasting some clicks there!
:)

Inappropriate?Hi Andy,
Thanks for the feedback. As you might imagine, what you're talking about represents a big change in our current handling of projects and invoices so it's not something we could do lightly.
We'll have a chat about it, but I can't give you any promises.
The breadcrumbs idea is an excellent one, and something we're keen to add in soon-ish.
Thanks again for taking the time to contribute.
I’m happy

Inappropriate?Reminds of the discussion going on here:

No doubt a lot of people have the same ideas...
I’m wondering what the developers think...

Inappropriate?Yer newoceans....I just thought I'd stick it under the ideas section aswell :)
Granted I bet its not an easy job to change, but I for one think it's the proper way to do it, projects to invoices seems pointless, projects are items in my mind.
Ah well....we'll wait and see how things develop
I’m hopeful
