Different Costs for Different Tasks
I would like to see the ability to give different tasks in a single project different cost rates. For example, any inital design work I put into a project, before the project is confirmed is effectively done for free. However, I would like to bill this as a 0 cost item against the client, so the amount of work performed is visible to them.
Example:
Sample Project
Task - Brief & Inital Design - 12 hours - £0
Task - Inital Design - 6 hours - £120 ( 6 x £20/hr)
Task - Implementation - 12 hours £360 (12 x £30/hr)
Example:
Sample Project
Task - Brief & Inital Design - 12 hours - £0
Task - Inital Design - 6 hours - £120 ( 6 x £20/hr)
Task - Implementation - 12 hours £360 (12 x £30/hr)

Inappropriate?Hi there
We do intend to enhance the functionality of projects and tasks in the coming months so we'll definitely bear this in mind.
As a workaround right now, you can add a manual invoice item with a Unit Price of zero which will allow you to produce an invoice with this information on it.

Inappropriate?Hi Olly,
Same question here:
- The task webdesign has a billing rate of EUR 75.00
- The task text writing has a billing rate of EUR 55.00
- Et cetera -
Inappropriate?Marc
Noted, thanks. -
Inappropriate?Any news on this? It would make the unbilled time estimates accurate. I almost always have two rates per project and so I never actually know how much is to be invoiced until I fill out the invoices and adjust the hourly rate for whichever of the items doesn't match the default.
I’m frustrated

Not to mention that having to adjust every item for the task with a differing hourly rate every time I invoice is a pain.
