Dividends paid to Directors Loan Account, but no Div. Vouchers Created
Hi,
Instead of paying dividends as cash to myself in a previous financial year, I paid it into the Director's Loan Account to offset a balance which I had previously paid to myself.
This was done by creating a Journal entry crediting the Dir Loan account with the dividend amount and another journal entry showing the debit from the Dividend account to myself.
FAC accepted this fine, and the correct amount shows in the P & L account under "less Dividends Paid"
However no Dividend Vouchers are auto created, and the Money->Dividends and Accounting->Dividend Vouchers pages for the relevant tax/reporting year do not show any entries; with the explanation "No bank transactions have been categorised as Dividends yet"
Can you help with this?

Inappropriate?Olly,
So we just updated the software last night to take care of exactly this issue!
Could you confirm you're now seeing these dividend vouchers? -
Inappropriate?Hi Ed,
I still can't see them even with a login/logout (both My Money -> Dividends and Accounting->Dividend Vouchers)
Is there someway I can tell the version of FAC that I'm using, just in case there is some kind of caching/web server issue?
I also noticed that in the Accounting->Dividends page you can't change that tax year for the Vouchers, it uses the tax year selected in a previous page, such as the P & L account.
Obviously the ability to select the tax year (or all) to display would be most useful here!
I’m still unhappy, but have faith that all will be resolved!

Inappropriate?still can't see the dividend vouchers, even when recreating the entries or creating new entries for todays date!

Inappropriate?Olly,
Sorry you're still having problems. We'll check out the specifics of what you're seeing and get back to you as soon as we can...

Inappropriate?Olly,
We've worked out the problem. It looks like you need at least one conventional (from the bank) dividend declaration before FreeAgent will show you any lists of dividends.
Sorry for the inconvenience - as soon as we can we'll tweak the software to change the way this is done, and then your journalled dividend vouchers should be visible.
I'll post here again when this has been done... -
Inappropriate?Problem fixed in release on 3/8/09, Many Thanks Guys!
Just need to work out how to set the date & location of the Dir Meeting to approve the Dividend as shown in each Div Voucher, but that'll be for a separate thread!
I’m very happy, another bug bites the dust!
