Do recurring invoices get created as draft if you don't ask it to email automatically?

I think once again I am being daft but here's my question: I want to use recurring invoice feature to create draft invoices for me and then I will check them and send them manually by email. I take it if I didn't ask it to email them (in the advanced options) then it will create them in draft? Is this correct? I feel silly
