To remove a bank account you must first remove all the associated bank transactions and explanations. This is straightforward if you're uploading your statements -- you can use the Undo Last Upload button -- but a little more time consuming if you have added everything manually.

Inappropriate?But I haven't added any bank account transactions. I have added some expenses and invoices, but nothing else.

Have you manually marked your invoices as paid by any chance? When you do this you create a manual bank account entry which would prevent that account from being deleted.
The alternative to manually marking invoices as paid is to upload your electronic bank statements and explain the transaction which relates to an invoice payment as an Invoice Receipt.

It really does sound like you have created manual payments for all your invoices. Is this the case? If so you can just delete these and then you'll be able to delete your bank account.
If you'd like to email me directly at olly at freeagentcentral dot com we can delete the account for you no problem. It's worth mentioning that if you have created payments manually, then any invoices currently marked as PAID will be put back into SENT status once the account is deleted.
