Inappropriate?Hi Terry,
Could I just double-check - so you are giving him/her a P45, i.e. that person is going to stop working for you?
Kind regards,
Emily -
Inappropriate?Hi Emily,
No, this employee is to be on the payroll for say 3 months, then off for 3 months, then on again and so on. No P45 is required.
Regards,
Terry

Inappropriate?Hi Terry,
I think then, that you'd have to set them up as normal, then when they're going off, click "Revise Payroll" for that employee and set their pay to £nil from when they go.
When they come back on, click "Revise Payroll" again and set their pay back up to normal level.
Does that make sense please?
Kind regards,
Emily -
Inappropriate?Hi Emily,
Kind of, but I can't see how to 'set up' an employee or amend their details to 'Revise Payroll'. The employee in this instance is myself! I can access my details as a User but not as an Employee. Am I missing something?
Regards,
Terry

Inappropriate?Hello Terry,
Are you a sole trader or a partner? In either of those cases you are not an employee of the business (because legally you are the business) so don't need to run a payroll to pay yourself. Instead you'd call any payments to yourself "Drawings".
If you're the director of a limited company, then to set yourself up with a payroll, from the "My Money" menu, choose "Payroll".
You can then set up your pay and revise it.
Does that help please?
Kind regards,

Inappropriate?I am a director of a limited company. I can access payroll and see my monthly payslips but not amend them e.g. to set my salary to zero. Interestingly I can see payslips for every month from 06 Apr 09 to 06 Mar 10 except 06 Jun 09, but don't know how these were created (I didn't, at least not knowingly!).
I also note that my salary entries (accessed from My Money, Salary) show values that are inconsistent with my payroll. I didn't set these up either.
I suspect that these were all set up by BFCA when setting up my FreeAgent account. I have tried to find out from them (Emma Austin & Chris Armstrong) but am not getting much help at present.

Inappropriate?Hi Terry,
That sounds like your access may be restricted.
You'll need to talk to BFCA about extending your user permissions - if they set up your account then this is something they would need to do for you.
Kind regards,
Emily -
Inappropriate?Hi Terry,
Good, I'm glad it's been sorted out.
If you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask.
Kind regards,
Emily
I’m glad
