How to show income transaction as *employment* income?
Whilst for the tax year in question, I worked mostly as a self-employed freelance, one of the clients was adamant about deducting tax for my via its PAYE system. I have the resulting income transactions in my FreeAgent - but the best I can categorise them in my tax readout as "Other Sales Income".
How should I be showing this? I presume I actually need to show this income as "Other Employment during the year (from your P60 or P45)" in the "Self Assessment Return Details 07/08" section... (?)

Inappropriate?Hi Robert,
If you've already paid tax on the earning you should not explain this as Other Sales Income as this would count towards additional taxable income.
You're right, however, to say that this should be entered in the Other Employment part of the self assessment section. You'll need to enter the total amount earned for the tax year plus the tax paid to date. You should see these amounts on your P45 or P60.
Does that make sense?
