Inputting mileage in current VAT period

When I put in mileage, and it prepopulates what you put in last time, and that happens to be in a locked VAT period then it won't let me put in current mileage even if that is in the current VAT period. Is this a bug or am I daft again?

I’m sad, but mainly cos it is Monday morning!
