Invoice dissapeared

I emailed an issue to you on the 16th Dec as below, but had no response - not like you guys?

I created our invoice number 4077 on 18th July 2008 (see attached) and it was paid on the 9th December 2008 in a big payment of £8,459.79
I want to allocate the payment of £168.13 to invoice 4077 but I cannot find it in my payment list, or in the invoices?
Where could it have disappeared to?
I need to be able to allocate the payment to that invoice?

Sorry 'bout that. We do try to do better than that, as you know.
The only thing we can find in the system is an invoice with identical items to the one you sent across, and identical comments, but with reference '4264' and dated 14th Oct 08.
Is that one right? It seems odd that it's so similar but is for a different project...
