Invoicing time
There are so many services similar to Free Agent that for a long time I have felt put off using them, but the FAC demo has helped a lot.
The thing I found confusing is with invoicing time. I selected the client and found I could enter the hours but shouldn't these be entered by the system using figures entered in Time Tracking?
The invoice generated did not seem to bear any relevance to the client. For example the demo showed 16 hours work for the client, so I created the invoice for the client and the task it was for, but the invoice amount was zero. I'm not that cheap!
On the New Invoice form, there is nowhere to enter the amount, so where are the details of the amount and what it's for?
Thanks for your help.

Inappropriate?Ian,
Thanks for checking out the FreeAgent demo.
You can use timeslips if you want to keep a record of the time you spend (either from the Project page or from the Timesheet page itself).
The resulting time is billed at the rate defined in the Project, but you can override this in the invoice item which is generated when you choose to include unbilled time.
Only unbilled timeslips (or expenses, if you also included those) which are on or before the invoice date are included in that invoice. Of course, they also need to have not already been rebilled (shown with the padlock item in the timesheets or expenses).
Alternatively, you can just create a blank invoice, then use the 'Add an invoice item' link to add invoice items directly for the work (16 Days at £x00 unit price).
Does that help?
