New HSBC statement downloads not uploading to FreeAgent
As of yesterday, HSBC now have downloadable statements going back 6 years.
Unfortunately the qif files for these appear to be a different format to the recent transaction downloads and don't import.
The new format shows each entry on a single line and uses quotes around various fields along with CR/DR after the amount rather than - in front. This looks to be a better format, but doesn't currently work with Free Agent.

Inappropriate?James,
I'm importing this into Zendesk so we can take a closer look at the file -

As discussed via email, we've added support for this new HSBC file format. Please do let us know if it's working for you.

Olly, I too am unable to upload HSBC csv or qif. I can provide files if you like. (Account: edgecasuk) -

Ok, I'm pretty sure it's a HSBC problem. The downloads for the "recent transactions" are fine. If I remove random bytes from the statement CSV it uploads fine. I've tried to report it to HSBC, but http://skitch.com/paulanthonywilson/n...
(As an aside, HSBC is the worse online banking site I have experienced.) -
Inappropriate?Hi Olly, sorry for the delay in replying - the statement upload worked for me using the new format for statements.
Thanks for the speedy fix and great support.
I’m thankful
