No VAT on Calendar Tax Timeline?
I subscribe to my FreeAgent Tax Timeline using Google Calendars. On my FreeAgent page, I see that I have a VAT return due on the 7th of March, 2009 but I see no corresponding entry on my calendar.
Could you please ensure that this date is visible on the subscribed calendar?
Also, I assume that the date in FreeAgent is for electronic payments?
I received an email from HMRC today informing me that the same return is due for 28/02/2009, although there is the added caveat:
"Please note additional time may be available for the return and payment to reach us if payment is made by an approved electronic method. You can find further information in the VAT Online Return Frequently Asked Questions."
Naturally, I can't locate the FAQ in question!

Inappropriate?Hi Michael
The VAT return should definitely be displayed in the iCal feed in Google Calendar. I have just run a test and the VAT entry showed up:

Maybe you could try re-subscribing?
You're right, the VAT date in the FreeAgent Tax Timeline is for electronic payments, so it includes the extra 7 days HRMC allow you for paying electronically. I'm not 100% certain but I believe the VAT return must still be filed electronically by the normal deadline -- the extension only applies to payments.

Inappropriate?Hi Olly
I removed the calendar and then couldn't re-add it. The error message was: 'Settings error: Could not fetch the URL.'. I've just tried again and I'm happy to report that it's now working as expected.
I’m happy
