Opening Balance on Directors Loan Account
Is there any way to set an opening balance on a Directors Loan Account? I can see entries in the settings for general Trade Debtors/Creditors, but not for a DLA.

Inappropriate?James,
It's part of the settings for each Director.
Go to Home > People and click a person row to edit that person's details.
The opening balance is there...

Inappropriate?I must be going blind. I can't see the opening expense balance anywhere in FreeAgent. (It took me about 5 minutes to see "Users" at the top right, which was almost invisible to me.)
(I'm looking for the expense balance, not the director's loan, but I assumed they'd be in the same place.)
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Hi Ashley,
You're not going blind at all - we've moved the opening balances!
This is because you used to have to enter opening balances on lots of different screens, and some by journals, which was time-consuming as well as confusing. We've now got just one opening balance screen.
You'll find it by going to Accounting > Trial Balance and choosing Opening Trial Balance Builder from the date menu.
More information about entering opening balances here http://www.freeagentcentral.com/suppo...
And re your specific query, the correct code to use for expenses is number 905, then choose from the list of users which will appear when you pick that code, which director these expenses were owed to.
I'm assuming the expenses were owed to the director, in which case the figure would go in as a minus.
Does that help, please?
Kind regards,
Emily
