If I attempt to print my invoices via the invoice view the formatting gets screwed up (and via print preview)

There are some shortcomings in the Print functionality in all browsers which means that the output doesn't always look exactly like what you see on-screen.
If the invoice template is basic, such as our Simple template, then the browser Print functionality should do a decent job of rendering the result. For more complicated templates -- such as Horizon, Tranquillity and Union -- we use background images which by default are not displayed by the browser during printing.
It's possible to override some of these settings in the browser itself, as you can see here in the Print dialog in Safari:

But, despite this, the end result can often be lacking in some way. Each different browser has it's own way of dealing with these settings and they are something FreeAgent has no control over.
It's because of the lack of control we have on the browser side that we provide the Save as PDF option. The PDFs we generate should be a near-perfect representation of what you see on the screen, so we recommend you always save as PDF before printing a hard-copy to send to a client.

Well I'm only highlighting this because I usually use this method of printing rather than from the generated PDF - only today I noticed that the only things being printed were the header and footer of the invoice page (default template) - the items I added into the invoice were not being printed. So my initial thought was that something has changed. If this is how it's mean't to be then fine.

If the invoice items are not being printed via the browser then this sounds like a possible bug. Could you tell me which browser you're using, and on which platform (Windows XP, Mac OS X etc)?
