Provide a total at the bottom of every page that has a list of items

I've been doing some reconciliation with my old accounts and spending too much time summing up line items. So, why not just provide a total amount at the bottom of every page that shows a list of items: current expenses, bank transactions, whatever. If you've engineered your code right, it shouldn't be too hard.
