Recurring invoice option disappeared?
What has happened to recurring invoices? Has it changed? I thought there was an option in the 'create invoice' screen? Or am I just being blind?

Inappropriate?Sorry... just found this other topic.

I must admit that I'm confused as hell now. I've been staring at this for ages but cannot figure it out. I used to create an invoice, mark it as recurring each year, and save. I liked it that way!
I’m sad

Inappropriate?Hi Lewis,
There were some fairly major issues with the way we were doing recurring invoices in the past, especially if you wanted to edit them.
With the new way we've separated out the recurring invoice profile from the actual generated invoices, which does give much more flexibility.
Essentially you just set up a profile, with the correct details and when you'd like the invoices sent out, and this in turn will generate invoices (which you can view from the normal invoices screen) as and when they are scheduled.
Does that help at all? -
Inappropriate? It makes much more sense now. I'm sure that any new users will figure it out almost immediately, but for somebody like me who has been used to doing it the other way, it takes a bit of time to get your head around it.
Thanks for the help :)
I’m happy

Inappropriate?Question - if I create a recurring invoice for £400 and send it, and then amend the profile to £200 for future recurring invoices, will it change the original £400 to £200?
-
Inappropriate?Hey, this new way is actually really good!
Can we have a 'total' at the bottom of the recurring profiles page so that I can see how much turnover is generated by recurring billing?
-
Inappropriate?Glad to see you're getting why we changed!
Question - if I create a recurring invoice for £400 and send it, and then amend the profile to £200 for future recurring invoices, will it change the original £400 to £200?
Only future ones will be effected. All previously sent ones will stay as they were. This was one of the reasons we changed it.

Good idea, we'll have a chat about this.
