What a cameraman needs: just to add simple line items, no time tracking please!
I really like the UK bias compared to LessAccounting.com, but I need to be able to just add simple line items - I don't bill by time, I'm a camera operator and have a series of standard day rates, plus need to be able to add subhired camera equipment with a markup as needed. I also really like LessAccounting's way of making a proposal which can be promoted into an invoice.
Any idea if those are features anywhere close on your development schedule to help me make a decision? Thanks!

Inappropriate?Aha, I just noticed the reply to this question: http://getsatisfaction.com/freeagentc...
Okay, I'm leaning more toward FreeAgent now.
Can I make a list of commonly used 'line items' to build an invoice quickly?
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?Hi Ed,
As you can see from that other thread you don't have to use time tracking at all, and many of our users don't. You can just add simple invoice lines for products/services etc.
We're going to be doing 2 things in the next couple of releases that should make your life even easier:
1) Relaxing the requirement to have a project in order to create an invoice
2) The ability to create estimates which can be automatically turned into Invoices
We're working on this right now so it won't be long until you can try it out.
At the minute you can't reuse invoice items but we're thinking about this also.
Let me know if there's anything else I can help you with. -
Inappropriate?Hi Roan, thanks for the speedy reply.
The UK tax return section looks absolutely great; I think that coupled with the clear movement on the development front (looking at your blog) has me sold.
Re-using invoice items would be nice - if only because some sort of auto complete feature would prevent me forgetting exactly what I charged for piece-of-equipment-x last time, which usually leads to upset phone conversations with production managers.
The other thing - and I'm not sure how complex an ask this would be given how it would affect tax calculations - would be as I mentioned, a way of inputting a mark-up percentage per line item, with the marked-up rate being what is invoiced and the original rate being what is calculated as expenses.
Thanks for your time,
Ed Moore
