It's quite unusual to have to register in different countries because (in simple terms) you don't have to register until your turnover exceeds the country's own VAT limits.

Does this apply to you?

Eligibility for refund

Foreign businesses can on application obtain refunds of value added tax paid on purchases of goods and services in Norway or on imports of goods into Norway.

The conditions for refunds of value added tax (VAT) are that

* the foreign business is not liable to register for VAT in Norway;
* the value added tax relates to the applicant’s business activities carried out abroad;
* the business would have been liable to registration in accordance with the Norwegian Act relating to Value Added Tax if it had been carried out in Norway; and
* the value added tax would in that case have been deductible.

No for two reasons:

1. The first set of accounts are for > one year (16 months); and
2. Unusually, I calculated monthly depreciation.

It just proves you can't satisfy all of the people all of the time!

Have you thought about having an accountant review your figures before submitting them? Like you though I wouldn't be happy (charging) if the savings didn't exceed the cost.

IMHO that would be far better for me but it would leave the vast majority of users without any dividend paperwork. Perhaps it has to be an option with a very strong warning attached to it?

I introduced the computer assets at market value using the Opening Trial Balance Builder.

The date they were bought is irrelevant (to me) but I do understand why you're asking and they were bought before the FreeAgent start date.

In theory a log of all entries but in practice a log of journal entries.

While I'm on the subject could accountants have a fast way of entering journals please? More like accounts preparation software.

It would be really useful as an accountant (and therefore no use for anyone else!) if it was possible to produce a list of the entries I have made in a client's records.
