thanks for the clear answers, Bart. We can base our trust on your explanation here but as Brant pointed out, there's still the possibility of MITM exploits.

Perhaps you could offer a paid tier with full SSL to avoid the performance issues? Slap the security-conscious users on a different server?

It's a shame SSL breaks the caching in the first place :/ I also have FF set to alert me on mixed content -- otherwise, what's the point, right?

In the meantime, you can bookmark the toggl timer and create a shortcut to that bookmark on your Android home screen. It's not ideal but it can usually get the job done, for now.
