We too would love this feature, we currently create the invoice in advance and just write all our notes on them as comments so we don't forget stuff when it comes to doing the invoice for real (then delete all the comments). I first raised this improvement over 12 months ago, so it would be great if it would be added soon.

Yes, at the moment you can only set the hourly rate per project and not set a default hourly rate for the client. ie Client A hourly rate is £45 and Client B hourly rate is £60. Every project created for Client A will have it's hours rate set to £45 by default and Client B set to £60 by default.

Or you have a global hourly rate of £60 and all projects create are set to £60 by default. You can then edit a particular clients details to have a different hourly rate.

    -------

Another improvement could be the option to set the start date of a project to 'today' be default. We always start a project the date we create the project on FA, having the start date automatically set to 'today' would save us an extra 3 clicks (which is a lot to just date the project).

    -------

    New Project page.
Why are your suppliers listed in the 'client contact' drop down. This would make for sense if it just listed your clients.

    -------

How do I edit the tasks. there are a couple of mistypes that I want to remove from the predictive typing drop down list.

A few tweaks after 16 months of use...
    Home tab:
#1 Under the tax timetime it would be great if you still listed the entries, for example up to 7 dates, once their due date. In case you forgot to do something, you are no longer reminded once the date has passed.
#2. Under 'projects with unbilled items', it would be great if you can get rid of the ghost projects that have been completed and fully invoiced for that still get listed here. Although this may be due the the inability to have multiple projects on one invoice - currently an invoice can only 'belong' to one project.

    Contacts tab:
#1. No way to see completed projects. When I filter the page to "clients with completed projects" I expect to be able to see their completed projects and not the active ones still.

    Work Tab:
    Projects:
#1. Set hourly rate and payment terms globally (or even better per client).

#2. Completed projects sub divided via client. We have over 300 completed projects and it would be more tidy to see these divided into clients.

    Project Information:
#1. It would be useful to be able to add a notes/comments field to a project.

    Invoices:
#1. The ability to group multiple projects into one invoice (Ed - you have already told me how I can achieve this), to save you sending out multiple invoices. This can be done but it currently lists only the last project you add to the invoice as having a net £ total against it. All the other projects have £0 invoiced listed.

Eg: Project 1 = £10, Project 2 = £5 and Project 3 = £20 but under Projects>Completed projects they are listed as Project 1 = £0, Project 2 = £0 and Project 3 = £35. So at a glance you can't see the values of each project you have to open the communal invoice.

    My Money tab:
#1. The ability to have petty cash as it works in the real world - the ability to list a cash withdrawal as petty-cash. I know that at the moment you you make the purchase yourself and then make an expense claim.

Doh, never though about leaving it blank. All sorted.

I think I got confused with our accountants user details, which has my email address under NI number.

How to add a new user without an NI number
I need to add a new user (freelancer) that I want to access the timeslips only. As I don't have their NI number (and never will) how to I add them?
